Verification and AML
Explaining why we verify
1.1 We only accept players where gambling is lawful under local rules, and we follow Canadian requirements covering age, identity checks and the prevention of money laundering.
1.2 Verification confirms that a real person aged 19 or over holds each account and plays from a permitted location. It also protects players and the casino against fraud, stolen payment details, money laundering and terrorist financing.
Confirming identity and age
2.1 To register, we need four pieces of information: the name on your official documents in full, when you were born, your residential address, and an email at which we can contact you.
2.2 Prior to accepting your initial deposit, we verify your identity electronically using reliable data sources and confirm your device's location by geolocation. Deposits remain blocked until both checks have been completed.
2.3 If our electronic check fails to verify your details, we may request documents such as:
- a passport, a driver's licence or another valid government-issued photo document;
- a utility or bank statement that is recent, dated a few months back at most, and shows your name alongside your home address;
- documents showing the funding account is registered to you, for example an e-wallet account page captured as an image or, where you paid by card, an image of its front in which the middle numbers are covered.
2.4 Documents must be clear, complete and unaltered. Withdrawals are paid only to methods held in your name.
Explaining source of funds
3.1 When deposit levels, play patterns or withdrawal requests call for it, we ask where the money you use with us comes from.
3.2 We accept evidence such as payslips, tax documents, bank statements, or papers linked to the sale of a property or to an inheritance. Our request will always name the exact documents we need.
Keeping records and reporting
4.1 Identity records, verification outcomes and transaction histories are kept for as long as Canadian law requires and are stored securely, as described in our Personal Data Policy.
4.2 Reasonable suspicion of terrorist financing or money laundering leads us to notify the relevant Canadian authorities. Under Canadian law, we may not tell a player whether such a notice has been submitted.
Monitoring accounts over time
5.1 Verification continues beyond the first check. We monitor transactions and play continuously for unusual patterns, for example withdrawals that follow deposits with little play in between, frequent switching between payment methods, or activity that does not fit a known profile.
5.2 Checks may be carried out again if your details change, if documents expire, or if account activity calls for a fresh look.
Screening for political exposure and sanctions
6.1 Every player is checked against politically exposed person (PEP) lists and sanctions lists when signing up, and periodically from then on.
6.2 Matching a PEP list does not bar you from play. Instead, it triggers enhanced checks, for example on the source of your funds. Our service is not available to any player who appears on a sanctions list.
Handling failed checks
7.1 We restrict an account when a required check cannot be finished or requested documents are not supplied. Until the matter is resolved, we may suspend deposits, withdrawals and gameplay.
7.2 Where we find false documents, a payment method belonging to a third party, or indications of fraud, the account is closed, the activity concerned is voided, and we report it to the appropriate authorities if the law obliges us to. The handling of balances is set out in our Terms & Conditions.
